Fancy dress raises funds for five-year-old’s Leukaemia treatment

Team members at BMF branches donned impressive fancy dress and held a raffle to help raise money for overseas Leukaemia treatment.

Staff dusted off their finest fancy dress with impressive results and are also held a raffle for customers to fundraise for five-year-old Oscar who’s suffering T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia.

Having exhausted all treatment available in the UK, his family is now raising the money needed to take Oscar for cutting edge treatment overseas.

Their target is £500,000 and so far they’ve raised a staggering £425,000 of this through outstanding efforts throughout their local community.

As the overall target gets tantalisingly closer, Oscar and his family find themselves in a desperate race against time to get the five-year-old the treatment that could potentially save his life.

BMF Worcester Warehouse Controller Hayley MacDonald has helped to organise much of the activity across the branches.

She said: “There’s lots going on with raffles, tombolas, change buckets and dress down donations, so we just hope it goes some way to getting Oscar the help he needs.

“I have two children and this is a story that really pulls on the heart strings, so we’ve had lots of staff and customers get behind it and get involved.”
