“I enjoy taking the experiences and knowledge from people that have helped to mould me, replicating that across our teams today and seeing them progress their individual careers.

“It’s also rewarding to take on the daily challenges the role brings as the business evolves.

“This is a place where you can feel valued and part of something, and that makes it so special.”

What has been the biggest change over the past 30 years?

“Starting out with one branch and scaling up to where we are today as a national company with over 180 branches.

“The demands and expectations from the industry and how they have also grown.”

Any advice for people just starting out their career in the industry?

“GSF has been a great company to work for in providing me with the opportunity to progress my career to where I am today, as well as giving me a route to keep pushing for further development.

“My advice would be to make use of the people around you.

“There are lots of people who have progressed through the business like me who are always happy to help you to develop and find new opportunities to take the next step.”

South East Divisional Director Emma Tiernan said: “I have worked with Gary since 2013, his work ethic and drive to succeed is fantastic as well as his commitment to the company and his team, who he drives hard to succeed in their roles.
