Parts Alliance welcomes new logistics director

President and COO Neil Croxson introduces John Baker

Logistics director, John Baker is to spend his first weeks at The Parts Alliance gaining an understanding of how it operates.

President and COO at The Parts Alliance, Neil Croxson said: “I’m pleased to welcome our new logistics director John Baker to the business.”

John is a specialist in the day-to-day running and development of large-scale logistics networks.

For the last eight years, he’s worked as an expert consultant for household names such as Screwfix, Britvic, Unipart, Staples, ECP and Wincanton, dealing with a host of complex and diverse distribution projects.

John has led projects to implement hub and spoke networks, to launch new distribution centres and to introduce of new transport contracts. Most notably in his long and distinguished career, John spent nearly 30 years running Wolseley UK’s distribution centre network.

After joining Wolseley UK as a warehouse operative at just 15, John worked his way up through the business to become general manager for its 31 distribution centres and 400,000 SKUs, followed by its director of supply chain.

Neil added: “That kind of commitment and passion are values we share across our business, so I’m confident John is a great addition to the team.

“John will be reporting directly to me and his skills and experience will complement those on our SMT as we continue to grow our national distribution model.”
