TRS Vehicle Centre wins Servicesure night out

Derbyshire-based TRS Vehicle Centre have won a night out through Servicesure thanks to an inspiring entry into the garage programme’s competition last month

Servicesure ran a competition with its nationwide network of members in July to celebrate the official end of lockdown restrictions. To be in with a chance of winning a team night out, member garages had to send in a picture of their team and tell Servicesure why they deserved to win.

TRS Vehicle Centre, a Servicesure customer of CES Derby, bagged themselves the prize with an inspiring message you can read in full below.

Head of Garage Programmes Paul Dineen said: “We know independent garage owners have been through a hell of a lot since the pandemic started and it’s been tough for many of the teams out there to find time to unwind.

“The lifting of lockdown restrictions was a huge milestone for all of us, so we wanted to give one of the teams a real chance to mark the occasion by doing something special.

“The team at TRS Vehicle Centre exemplify everything we wanted to reward and celebrate, so I hope they enjoy their night out on us.”

TRS Vehicle Centre nomination

After the year we have all just had I would firstly like to say just how proud I am of this little team of ours! Whatever has been presented to us we have all risen to the challenge. And, I think we have successfully supported not only our customers but also each other through what has been an unprecedented and incredibly tough year!

Not only have we contended with the Covid-19 pandemic, enforced closure, furlough, staff isolating and challenging times for the business; but we also, incredibly sadly, lost a valued and long standing member of our team, Donna Morris, to cancer in March this year who was a personal friend to many of the team as well as a valued colleague. We have all had to step up and deal with a very uniquely challenging set of circumstances whilst also putting on our best ‘TRS Game Face’ and welcoming our new accounts team member Kelly to the team along with a few other new faces as we have expanded in numbers!

All the team agree that TRS is not only our place of work but also our extended family and we are eternally grateful for that. We could all do with getting glammed up and a night on the tiles after having to cancel last year’s Christmas party, the team Christmas fuddle and our regular ‘team drinks’ throughout the year due to Covid. An evening out together is well overdue!!!

So who are Team TRS……

At the helm, our captain in command is Sean. He has steered us through the last year in proper pirate style…..on just the one leg after breaking it in February last year. He’s a champ and powered through! Alongside Sean are our MD’s & founders Teri and Colin (father and daughter team) who between them have many years of industry knowledge and experience.

In the workshop we have our foreman James who likes to keep up team moral with his and I quote “angel like singing voice that’s too good for X factor” – we aren’t sure that Simon Cowell and co would agree! The rest of our workshop crew are Liam, our resident cheeky Chappy who likes a practical joke. Conner (nobody can ever spell him name correctly, Connah, Conar or Connar?! Only he knows! He is clean in this photo for a change, if there’s dirt anywhere Conner somehow ends up with it on his face – we think its quite a unique skill and one which should probably be recognised as a talent in its own right!

Next up we have Dan – he’s the calm and collected member of the team. We then have our newest recruit, Harry who has just finished college and is settling in with the banter nicely! Last but by no means least in the technical team we have Kriz – he’s our no problems guy just give him 5 minutes…. Need something welding/fabricating? He is your man!

Then to keep us all in check is our very own Handy Andy – dedicated and loyal to a fault Andy had been vital for many of our customer both during Covid and before its existence. Andy can be found providing collection and delivery for many customers vehicles, often whilst they have been shielding or unable to get to us, as well as keeping our workshop spick and span. (Also his wife, Carol, makes the BEST cakes – fondly known as Carol Cakes he regularly boosts the team spirit with a little box of those!).

In front of house on service we have Zoe and myself (Suzie). We are the ones our customers will have a natter with on the phone & we love it! We are ready to help in any way we can, one of the best parts of our jobs is building up trust with the customers and being able to represent the team we have around us! We are both 100% people persons!!! We can be found organising the work load for the team, making sure our workshops days are planned out and all parts ordered ready to get our customer back on the road!

In our accounts department we have Kelly who joined us after Donna became very poorly last year. Kelly has an eye for detail and can be found dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s and keeping us all on our toes in the paperwork department.

All in all it would be wonderful for us to win. It really would feel like a reward for all our hard work and would give us a brilliant excuse to have a few drinks and socialise properly! As a Team!
