Ian Roberts denies the charge and has requested a Crown Court trial

A man has appeared in court after being accused of stealing his own car from a garage in Pembrokeshire.

It’s alleged that Ian Roberts, a 63-year-old man from Fishguard, stole his Volkswagen Passat after leaving it at Goodwick Motor Services on 1 December 2022.

Roberts denies the charge, with his solicitor telling Haverfordwest Magistrates’ Court that his client had arranged to collect the car at 5pm the same day.

His solicitor said: “There was an arrangement for him to take it at 5pm, and this was known by the garage and had been agreed to.

“My client accepts that his vehicle was in the garage, but the arrangement had been made to collect it.”

Roberts was released on unconditional bail and will appear at Swansea Crown Court on 2 February.
