Stoke team rally round to run marathon in support of colleague

The trio ran a marathon to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK following diagnosis

Three of our Stoke team rallied round to raise money for a cause close to their hearts this week after a colleague was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

On Sunday 21 January, Branch Manager Martyn Miller, Assistant Branch Manager Luke Burton and Sales Advisor James Broome completed the marathon route over 27 miles to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

The trio were inspired to run and raise money after their colleague and friend was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer.

Sales Advisor James Broome said: “We started the run around 6:45am kitted out with our head torches on in the pitch black. The route in total was 27.6 miles and it took us around five hours to complete and we finished back at the branch.”

Branch Manager Martyn Miller added: “For me personally, the best part of the day was seeing that finish line. Plenty of friends and family were there, including Shaun himself, so that was a lovely touch to finish the run.”

Assistant Branch Manager Luke Burton said: “We all feel extremely proud to raise so much money for a great charity that affects so many people in the UK.”

Their colleague is currently awaiting treatment and staying positive, the branch team are keeping in close contact with him while he is not working. The event raised over £1,500 so far and you can donate here:
