Garage energy audit surveys energy output for possible savings

The Independent Garage Association (IGA) is launching a new service to help members assess and reduce their energy costs.

A ‘Workshop Utilities Healthcheck’ audit has been developed by the association to survey energy output at member workshops and highlight areas where money could be saved.

Areas covered within the audit include equipment, heating, water, lighting, insulation and employee awareness, and the service will be included for no additional cost as part of IGA membership.

Stuart James, IGA chief executive said: “We are aware that businesses are finding it difficult to cover their energy bills today, let alone in the near future when prices will rise significantly.

“So, in a moment of need for the independent garage sector, we are proud to be proactively helping members to reduce their energy usage and save money in such difficult times.”

The audit will be available to IGA members soon.

IGA members can register their interest by calling the IGA Member Helpline on 01788 225 908 or emailing enquiries@rmif.co.uk.
